Adele was born in Johannesburg and
has lived in various parts of the country. She settled in Cape Town in
2000 and is the Reserve Manager for the Blaauwberg Conservation Area (BCA). Until she went to
high school Adele had never heard of a career in nature conservation. A
friend made her aware of this opportunity and, because she had always
wanted to do something in the environmental field she studied for her
Nature Conservation diploma. Adele loves having a job that allows her to
do many different things. She loves getting out of the office and working
in the veld, surveying plants and animals. Since Adele started working at
the BCA, a new lizard species has been discovered in the reserve.
