Zwai works at Edith Stephens Wetland Park as Communication Manager for Cape Flats Nature. He was born in Nyanga, just four kilometres from where he now works, and grew up with a passion for the natural environment. Zwai trained as a horticulturist and has been involved with a number of community conservation projects.

Zwai’s career has enabled him to combine his passion for nature, his horticultural training and his natural skill as a communicator. He inspires people to live in harmony with their natural surroundings and encourages them to get actively involved in looking after precious natural areas on the Cape Flats. Zwai also helps the city’s nature conservators to work in a people-centered way and to make nature conservation relevant to city residents. He also helps to publicise the good work taking place in the City of Cape Town’s nature reserves.

His job gives him the time and space to do what he loves - like being outdoors, seeing the most amazing natural jewels, meeting many different people, and inspiring the youth to care for nature.
